The Cultural Plan was created through a year-long, community-driven process in 2019 and formally adopted in June 2020. Artists, residents, cultural workers, and partners from across neighborhoods, towns, villages, and sectors came together to imagine what a thriving, creative region could look like — together.

Much has changed in our community and across the nation since then, but one thing remains constant: this plan refuses to sit on a shelf. The founding belief statements continue to ground our work, even as we adapt to new opportunities, challenges, and evolving community priorities.

With arts, culture, entertainment, recreation, and heritage deeply woven into the fabric of Summit County, we remain committed to ensuring creativity is valued, supported, and elevated as a driver of our shared future. The priorities established through the planning process continue to guide us, while ongoing insight and feedback from the community ensure our work stays responsive, relevant, and impactful — five years into a fifteen-year journey that is dynamic, collaborative, and always moving forward.
